Dear Friends, Supporters, and Former Constituents,
I am campaigning to return to work for you at City Hall. As Councilman from 2004-2007, I was able to work with you to solve and mitigate a number of our city’s problems. During my tenure I authored the Chronic Nuisance Law to fight problem housing, sponsored the Sex Offender Law to restrict the residency of offenders, fought for the construction of the Skatepark, voted for economic development projects including Rockport Square, the YMCA, and Rosewood Place. All this while also being a consistent supporter of the Lakewood City Schools and the development of Lakewood Catholic Academy.
Like me, you are probably frustrated with government right now. You are probably tired of politicians who seek blame rather than solutions, who see higher taxes as the only way to solve problems, or who simply violate our trust. I am not one of those guys. It’s also important for you to know that I have no connections to any of the county government officials who have either been indicted or are under a cloud of suspicion.
As always, I understand that as a public servant my obligation and commitment is to better your life. I know that you want me to work for you in conjunction with Republicans, Democrats, and Independents as I have in the past. I know that you always want me to put you, your family, and Lakewood first. That is why I am committed, if elected, to serve the next four years in this city as I have done in the past.
As a 30 year resident of Lakewood I can say that we have seen better times, but I also see signs that good times are ahead even in the midst of the current economic crisis. I hope that you can support me in this race.
Yours Truly,
Ryan
